HAHA Plein Air "Hermosa Art Out"
Hermosa Arts and History Association is proud to present our Second Annual "Hermosa Art Out" with pictures painted in Hermosa or within a 25-mile radius of the HAHA Museum. Thursday, September 25 -- Registration deadline. Thursday, October 2 -- Artists check in between 8-10 am. Begin painting "en plein air" (outside) within 25 miles of the town of Hermosa. Friday, October 3 -- Continue painting at the same place or at new locations. Saturday, October 4 -- You may continue to paint Saturday morning, as long as your artwork is framed and ready to be hung in the HAHA Museum from noon to 1 pm. Viewing and voting by the public will take place through the afternoon. An artists' reception and the awards will take place between 4 and 6 pm. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4TH SCHEDULE
9 am - 3 pm -- Painting, Viewing and Voting. The HAHA Museum will be open from 9 am, so that artists may frame their work and are also able to paint for fun at the Museum. The public is invited to watch any framing and painting, view the artwork as it is hung, and vote for their favorite pieces after everything is hung at 1pm. Art may be sold during this time but must be left in place until after the Reception and Awards. Deadline 1 pm -- Artwork Set Up. Set up artwork at the HAHA Museum by 1 pm. Artists must bring their own easels for display; we will have some display boards on hand for your use; see the Artist Guidelines. 3 pm to 4 pm -- Vote Tally. People's Choice votes will be tallied and volunteers will set out the refreshments for the reception. If you stop in during this hour we will put you to work. 4 pm to 6 pm -- Happy Hour, Reception, Awards. Artists will gather to meet with the public and each other, sales may be finalized, People's Choice Awards will be announced and cash prizes awarded for the top three winners. Light refreshments and beverages will be served. HAHA will take photos to use on our website and social media, but we will be mindful of the artists' copyrights. In 2024 artists gathered at the Museum before the artist reception on Saturday; some painted on small canvases during the afternoon.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 2ND SCHEDULE Artists must be pre-registered and check in at the HAHA Museum between 8 am and 10 am to have their canvas or paper certified. All "Hermosa Art Out" artwork must be created “en plein air” (outside) within a 25-mile radius of the City of Hermosa. These will be the only works eligible for awards. We will have a list of willing land owners for artists who are looking for a specific topic to paint (old barns, windbreaks, corrals, windmills, outbuildings, cattle, horses, chickens, stock dams, creeks, views of the grasslands or the Black Hills, etc.). Fire danger may be high: no smoking and no driving except on designated roads. Please be respectful of private property and ask permission. Thank you. HAHA Plein Air "Hermosa Art Out"
